Hi

I have been on Infinite Flight from quite early when the app was first released, and also have been posting to the community forum for a few years. I thought this may be of interest to some on here who are looking at finding flight simulators to go and try so I hope you don’t mind me posting.

From 2014 to 2018 I used to organise an annual visit to go to the BA full motion simulators based at London Heathrow. Over the years I did it we had just under 80 people come along.

Sadly BA stopped visits a year ago and we haven’t been able to find a way to overcome that. The good news is that I have been working with two current BA pilots over the last twelve months, one of which actually took one of our groups back in 2017. We really wanted to do something to try and keep this going, and this is the result.

The first stage of what we are doing is a flight simulator directory, so a comprehensive database of all simulators everywhere in the world. As part of that we are starting also to visit and review as many as we can, and we have been doing publishing reviews since late 2019 – there has been a temporary halt to that at the moment of course. Additionally, whilst we are all at home we are starting to add articles which may be of interest to the simulator community, and the first few are up online. The overall plan is to be one-stop portal for high quality real world fixed based and full motion flight simulation.

The next stage is to start developing a virtual pilots club which will be an online forum and chances to meet up and have visits to various sims with instructors who will hopefully be commercial pilots. This will take a bit of time to get going as we are concentrating on the flight sim directory and review site at the moment.

As we are all fans of Infinite Flight and flight simulation in general , I thought this would be related enough to mention on here as it may be of interest to some.

Nice topic! Here in France we got so much places where we can have fun in sims, however not full motion tho

We are very keen to do some tours in Europe after the lockdown ends and France is definitely on the list. Hopefully we can have some reviews of sims there for you later this year :)
