Level 3 violations initially affect your grade for 7 days, multiple Level 2/3 violations could potentially affect your grade for up to a year.

Feel free to continue on the appeal message you already created with us. Just for your information, though, as said by Ben above, Level 3 violations will affect you for 7 days, unless you have too many (six, to be exact) Level 2/3 violations in the past 365 days. In your case, you received a Level 3, but you don’t have too many violations, so you just have to wait for 7 days!
