Raptor, You Are Go For Trans-lunar Injection

Greetings. As I type, an f22 is tearing through space at 377 miles per minute.

I have travelled well beyond the moon with no end in sight, and as this flight nears its end here are some pics.

Route: somewhere in the ground to originally the moon
Aircraft: f22
Flight time: 16 hours + some change and counting

Raptor, you are go for TLI

Post TLI. Things had been going surprisingly well up to this point.

At this point engines have been shut off and are now in the coasting phase of the flight. It was at this point I had been informed the moon is just a jpg, but instead of turning back I kept going. It’s also not like i can turn back…. The f22 doesn’t have 377 miles of delta v left in it to turn around.

Well… we lost track of the moon and shot past it. The current image of the earth from 372,722 miles away.
if anyone knows how to turn around and cancel out 377 miles per minute of velocity with only 568kg of fuel left let me know this thing is only accelerating

Truly is Infinite Flight

weirdly enough when i got back to the hud cam it’s still saying there’s close to 60kts of wind (solar wind?)

the flight will probably come to an end tonight… it’s starting to act a bit funny, the altitude isnt counting very smoothly and it jumps around. something tells me this isnt a space sim

Houston, we may have a problem

Nice pictures!

Final update.
I have found Infinite Flight’s displayed altitude AGL cap of 2,147,483,647ft. HOWEVER on live flight it listed 2,532,245,200ft.

Edit:

Final altitude from the replay is 2,535,600,110ft

Multi million dollar experimental NASA F22 Raptor just floats away after last transmission….

Nice pictures @OV-099, I still wanna do this but I’m not sure how. I’ll toy around in my free time.

Imagine your looking out of your cockpit window and having this view. Think about seeing the earth, it’s incredible that normally, it takes hours to cross, but seconds to see all of it. Think about these hundreds of tiny planes flying around on earth. With your speed, they are getting smaller and smaller and smaller. and smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and so on!
