I have two questions 1. How do i rank up in the server and 2. Will i be able to control an airport if i am the oberserver rank in the ATC mode

To rank up, so to increase your Grade level on Infinite Flight, you first need to fly in one of the three multiplayer servers (Casual, Training or Expert Server). Doing it on solo will not increase your stats. While flying on one of these servers, your stats will increase. You will gain XPs, landings (if you actually land on a runway, a “landing” won’t be counted if you land on the grass, for example), and finally, flight time. All of this will help you to go from Grade 1 to Grade 5. Remember, though, that if you get violations, either system violations (Level 1) or controller-issued ones (Level 2/3), they will affect your stats and you may be downgraded.
ATC Observer means you are not qualified to control on the Expert Server. However, you will be able to control anywhere on the Training Server at any time! However, since you may find some bad pilots on the Training Server (no controller-issued violations are present in this server, only system-issued ones, so pilots may be bad pilots and you can’t do anything about it), I’d suggest you to apply for IFATC.
