Radar contact

I was doing a flight from eindhoven to Stansted but when I contacted Amsterdam departure, it said something like radar contact but I don’t know what it means.

Also a quick thanks to these 2 people for following my instructions as I tried using atc and I wasn’t the best

Radar contact / Roger for controllers and pilots

Radar contact/ Roger from a controller/ pilot perspective. Radar contact simply means the controller has you on the radar screen, and you have been identified. In RL this is done when departing an airfield IFR, and checking in with approach. Phraseology Pilot: Speedbird 435 climbing thru 2,000. Great info from Dylan above.

Two things I want to highlight:

• You only have to contact radar controller when you’re in their airspace. At cruise altitude this is not needed.
• Once you’re on Radar Contact, the Radar controller sees you and you don’t have to request anything else. You’re in ‘flight following’ now. Just stay on the Radar frequency until you receive frequency approved.
