The RAAF P-8A Poseidon was ordered in 2014 with 8 on Boeing’s list for Australia with a further 4 that could be ordered but eventually went for 15 in the end12 for marine patrol and 3 for normal defence patrol .
The first P-8 (A47-001) gracefully landed in Canberra on the 16 November 2016 only 2 have been delivered A47-001 and A47-001 with the further 10 to be delivered between 2017-2020

Looks great, especially with the unusual wingtips for a 737 family aircraft.
A wee search showed that the wingtips are from a 767, and the reason from the switch from the normal wingtips on a 737MAX is for better de-ice capabilities.
The aircraft will fly for extended periods of time at relatively low altitudes where the air has more moisture and so the icing risk is higher, hence the change.
Very interesting aircraft!

A military 737 with 787 wings? I like it 😂

The wingtips are more like the 777.

Here is the link to the US Navy P8 if your interested.

Although the pod-looking things under the wings (flap track fairings) are a lot more streamlined than older 737s. They look similar to the 787s.

Amazing looking aircraft, would be so awesome to have in IF.
