Quick question related to Autopilot+

I just had a quick question about the upcoming Autopilot+ feature. I was just wondering how replays would work? Like would it still be a normal replay or will the replay mode be different? If anyone can answer I’d be greatful

It’s 2 separate replays if that’s what you mean

What does 2 replys mean? How does that work

When you leave the flight it ends the session and once you come back, it’s a new session making it 2 different replays

So the replay is from when you start the session then end it and then another replay is from when you come back to the flight until you end the flight. Correct?

Oh ok. That makes sense. Thanks

Yes, so unfortunately for content creators at the moment, it does not give you a replay for the time that AP+ is going, and that’s not likely to change according to Laura.

Guess I’ll still have to suffer during these flights :joy:

If you want a complete replay with all the good stuff like sunset or sunrise, every turn, step climbing, crossing other planes in the skies or whatever, just use IF Remote

Doesn’t normal IF replays give you all that?

What does IF remote do for replays?

Yes but with the introduction of AP+, some portions of the replay will not be available. For example, the duration of the flight when it is flown under AP+ will not be in the replay.

If you dont use AP+, you will have the whole replay without any portions missing.

IF remote does not do anything with the replays. The use of IF remote is to be able to control your flight away from your device.

Yeah, I would like that replays are put as one. Like if you pause your flight, it would still add like the takeoff and landing together let’s say you’re game crashed and you can resume your flight. The replay starts at the start of where your game crashed or if you were on your final when your game crashed from where you were at 30 min to landing

What’s the point of IF remote though, considering you still need a device?

Well, unfortunately or fortunately, IF remote is only for those who have a 2nd device which they use to fly in IF. Most IF remote users fly on iPads so they will install the remote on both their tablets and phones and they use their phones to track their flights and at the same time control their flights when necessary when they are away from their flying device.

For those who only have a single device, there is no use case for IF remote.

When using IF Remote, your flight stays active in your IF device and so the replay will be one file from beginning to the end. And using IF remote let you keep control of the most significant parameters of your flight like speed, altitude, remaining fuel, etc.

You don’t need to be actively on your device. So, start a long haul flight at home on your iPad and then go to work or school. The flight will continue at home and you can control AP from your phone at work, track your flight, do step climbs and so on. And if you are late and not in time back home, you can deactivate LNAV and let your plane fly a holding pattern manually or in the near future you can do it with an automatic system of IF remote called auto hold.
