Quick ATC question about center

Hello. I just had a quick question. Is there a way i can control the Atlantic centers for ATC? I can’t find out how to control these areas.

No, it’s not possible, and frankly you really wouldn’t want to as most aren’t usually at their device consistently during a LH flight.

Ah okey. Thanks for the clarification

it is actually possible, just go to a random airport at greenland or something closest behind the tracks and you can control the nattrack center. But yeah, it is not that fun to controll there.

Irl when planes are in this airspace they aren’t actually talking to anyone besides each other, too far off coast for radio waves to reach.

Ok. Thanks. Because in MSFS i thought in VATSIM they had like some radar over the Atlantic so i thought maybe IF had it too

Can you go to Gander, Newfoundland. As it is gander FIR

try to find a closest nearby airport you can control and look if you can control gander or shanwick center there, if not try to find another, and another and so on

You’re able to control gander oceanic from CYYT

There is definitely still communication with both ATC and company via HF radio and increasingly satellite. Mostly it’s just position reports back to ATC to make sure everyone is on track and separation is maintained but aircraft are not just completely in the dark out there.

Sure but for how crowded it is it isn’t a normal everyday airspace. Radar services are terminated once entering the tracks, and your join shanwick center on the other side once exiting
