Question for the airport editing team

I’m posting my question to the airport editing team here, since I don’t know who I could message directly.

As a Dutch member of the IFC I would like to contribute to Infinite Flight by helping with editing airports in The Netherlands.
I live closely to EHAM and I have access to quite some information regarding the airports in The Netherlands and some of the (unique) procedures at airports in The Netherlands (mastering the Dutch language can be quite helpful when trying to find information about smaller airports).

I know that the applications are currently closed, however because my summer break will start soon, I will have quite some free time on my hands which I could use to contribute to Infinite Flight.
So I thought I’d give it a shot.

Does anyone know who I could message directly?
Or is there anyone from the airport editing team who knows if I can contribute to Infinite Flight?

Hey there!

Unfortunately that’s not how it works. Lots of people will be in the same boat as you - if you want to join the airport editing team, you’ll need to wait for applications to reopen.

Alright, is there maybe a way to supply existing members with some information on Dutch airports, procedures and maybe some translated technical information on smaller Dutch airports in order to help them?

The editors have access to everything that they would need to make an airport (satellite scenery, etc…)

These are provided by an external source database - the airport editing team doesn’t have anything to do with this. Their job is making airports have 3D buildings, etc.

Alright, I was wondering about that because for (for example) EHLV (Langeveld) there is a runway missing, which is mentioned on the Dutch website of the glider club which is based there.
(We currently have 09/27, however the “oude strip” (04/22) is missing, this runway is only used when there are very strong winds)
The airport is also in a protected nature reserve so there are no motorized aircraft allowed there.

As for the buildings, at Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM), you have two control towers:
Tower Schiphol Centrum, which is the main tower (and currently correctly modeled)
And
Tower Schiphol West, which is the tower next to the “Polderbaan” 18R/36L, this tower also has a different design, it is a minor thing but it is something that I could give quite some information about, as the tower is located around 6 km from where I live.

Another example is Soesterberg (EHSB), this airport is used for gliders only now, and at the location where there are fighter jet stands, there is a museum called “het national militair museum” or “national military museum” (if you are ever close to EHSB it might be cool to vist, they have some pretty cool fighter jets on display).

Sneak peek!
Komt eraan!

Ziet er super uit! Voelde toch altijd een beetje apart om op m’n thuis haven te landen en dan die toren te missen

Looks amazing!

(Alvast een fijne Koningsdag/ Happy Kingsday)
