Hello everyone, I have a question for you: when I land I need to do report abuot my position ex( Downwind, base, final) only when I do a pattern or at every landings. Thanks and have a good day!
Hello!
When using the radio, regardless if you’re doing a pattern or landing, you should report your position at every stage of the pattern, such as being on left base or final, so that other pilots are aware.
If you’re on a tower frequency, you don’t need to report your position no matter since the tower controller is monitoring your position. If you haven’t been cleared to land/for the option, you can always report your position to remind the controller and clear you.
Hello and welcome back to the community!
Dear @Jacopo_De_Grandis, it depends of if there’s an active ATC or not.
When you are using “UNICOM” report your position regardless of the pattern/landing position, it’s important to let them know where you are, specially when traffic on ground/ air request “traffic advisors.”
If you’re flying with an ATC active in the airport just report “inbound”, if they don’t clear you to land continue issuing your position, but if they do stop issuing.
Note: if the ATC controller said “Clear to land/for the option” it’s not necessary to report other inbound or position in the pattern, if you do they’d say “You’re already clear to land, avoid unnecessary reports.”
No question makes so idk what your question is
