Question About Whether VA Members Can Use Other VA Liveries

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question about Virtual Airline (VA) operations and livery usage in Infinite Flight.

Is there any official Infinite Flight rule that prevents a VA member from flying with another VA’s livery on the public servers?

I checked the Terms of Use and searched the forum, but I wasn’t able to find anything that specifically states that a pilot must only use their own VA’s livery. I understand that each VA may have its own internal policies, but I’m trying to confirm whether Infinite Flight itself has any official restrictions on this.

If anyone—especially staff, moderators, or VA representatives—could help clarify, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!

I don’t think there’s an official rule for that.. but are you saying that you’re in one VA and is it that you have to only fly with them..!? If that’s ur question then no.. but if you’re saying if ur in a VA and wants to join another VA.. you can do that

I’m not sure if this helps~

Thanks! To clarify my question a bit:

For example, if I’m currently a member of VA A, can I fly another airline’s livery (e.g., Airline B) while still having my VA A tag displayed?

I’m not talking about switching VAs—just whether using a different livery is allowed while representing my current VA on the public servers.

Thanks again for the help!

Hmm… I think that’s oki.. I think if they have a codeshare (or whatever it’s called) Then it’s oki.. but if not.. then I’m not sure lol..

Again.. as long as there like partners and whatnot.. But you could use any callsign and it wouldn’t matter tooo much (tho it would bug me a lil.. haha)

I think this is probably something to ask your VA.

My Va definitely allows us to use other liveries. But maybe sometimes other VA just allows their members to use their liveries?

I think they’ll be fine with it tbh..

If you are flying as a regular IF player, with your own callsign, you are free to fly any routes you want. However, if you are flying your VA callsign, you have to follow the rules listed in IFVARB, which includes only flying other VA’s routes that are codeshared between your VA and the other VA. It is against IFVARB rules for your VA to operate other VA’s routes without a codeshare agreement. Now, you are still free to fly another VA’s route even if you are a member of a VA, so long as you dont use your VA callsign for that route (unless its codeshared)

The issue is not about the livery but the route and callsign. Flying your VA callsign on a non-codeshared route wrongly represents both VAs and against IFVARB rules as it indicates that your VA is operating a route not codeshared between two VAs.
