Question about the flight path vector also known as the bird

hey guys, ive been playing IF since quite some time now but im new to the community.
is there any plans to add the bird in infinite flight ? it will help pilots do those raw data ils approaches and will in general add a good qol feature. what do you guys think ?

While unavailable for the cockpit instruments as of now, it has been a feature in IF’s HUD for a very long time. To activate it, in HUD view, go to Systems → Interface → FPV, and toggle it on.

Did they mean flight director as opposed to flight path vector? By “bird”, referring to the shape of the FD? From the op’s response I’m not sure, but from the title, difference between word and meaning(?).

Probably not. The FPV is known as the bird because it somewhat resembles one in shape. Regardless, neither is currently available on the aircraft’s instruments.

This photo is a great example showcasing both at the same time. The flight director are the pink crosses, indicating the attitude the aircraft needs to be at to fly according to what is set on the autopilot. The flight path vector is the little “bird”-shaped (which, for me, is much more plane-shaped) indicator that tells where the aircraft is going.
