Question about in background planes

Are all the planes that are flying and you see on the map that its in the background is that all the players using the Autopilot + or is that just planes in background without anyone flying the plane

Yes that means that they are currently using ap+

This one:

But technically the second one too. Basically someone started the flight.

Ok I wasn’t sure if it was AI controlled well technically it kind of is AI in a sense or part of Laura’s fleet. Also since now you can start another flight while that one is still going can you see your own plane flying while you are flying a different plane?

Yup you will see your own plane if you start another flight in the same server.

Just keep in mind that this 2nd flight you start can’t be flown with autopilot+ since your 1st one would already be using it.

What about if you are using atc and using autopilot+ you could clear yourself to land and give taxi instructions, but you would need to do that on a different device.

You can’t do that because AutoPilot+ only works past 28,000 ft for airliners and you’d have to be in level flight (not ascending or descending)

What about ga planes they can’t climb to FL280 the TBM can but the 208 and lower cant

I believe the altitude requirement is lower for those aircraft.

I think what would make the autopilot+ more interesting I’m not saying now but what if it could land for you I understand that it will save your flight 30 minutes before but what if the feature could allow the “AI” land the plane for you.

We already have APPR which lands the plane for you, and if you mean while your outside of the app.. what’s the point of flying anyway?

Because sometimes life can happen and you could forget about your flight and i know about appr I use it all the time for landing. But what I’m trying to say is if you forget about your flight for some reason with the autopilot+ on it could help you finish the flight. This same feature is on MFS where the AI taxis fly’s and lands the plane.

There’s also a 48 hour window from when you exit a flight and put it on autopilot + to when it will automatically delete- that’s a long time, even if you’re busy. But yes, I understand what you mean.

But at the same time Microsoft flight simulator is only treated like a simulator a quarter of the time, many people just like messing around in it lol.

There are some planes with a button built in incase of an emergency the polit can press it and the plane will land itself and in the sr-22 there’s a parachute for emergency’s

The only emergency on infinite flight is fuel, parachutes and the safe return feature would be way overused.

Not to be offensive or anything, but to me that doesn’t make any sense. I mean the best part of the flight is the takeoff and landing! Who would want AI to do that? That’s my biggest beef against APPR mode too. I would only consider using it if it’s impossible to see outside, and even then a hand flown ILS approach is soooooo satisfactory. But anyways, implementing an AI landing feature into IF would take a while, it would take away from the game, it would require a lot of reworking of ATC, among other things, and it isn’t a highly requested or sought after feature
