Question about Global scenery

How does it work in terms of airport scenery? I mean, does the work that the editing team is doing (no not FDS, I just forgot the darn name) getting over
layed on top of the 15 m/pix? The reason that I’m asking this is, that if you look at the thread “when’s the update” and click on the picture where you can see YSSY and zoom in on the airport itself, you can see different types of tarmac etc…

Airport editors have 2 primary materials - concrete and asphalt. So light coloured taxiways are concrete and dark/black ones are asphalt, and we edit them like that. Could you add a pic to clarify what you mean? Go to LAX or LHR and look in free view and you’ll see different coloured pavement. We use asphalt for buildings @Boeing773ER

I think that’s just the different types… @Moritz_Babl can you confirm?

@Insertusernamehere is right. Us editors have 8 types of runway available to us:
Asphalt
Concrete
Grass
Dirt
Gravel
Dry Lakebed
Snow
Transparent

This would be why the runways look different, because they are different surfaces.
