Quad-Jet Madness in the Snow | Munich, February 14, 2021

Welcome back to Part 2 of last weekend’s spotting results!

As I already hinted that there will be a second part to yesterday’s topic, here’s what happened after the great spotting day we had on Saturday: In addition to previously announced 340 movements on Sunday, two 747 movements were added to the schedule on Saturday evening, so once again, we ended up going to the airport in cold weather on Sunday morning, starting the day with United’s Dreamliner approaching from the US.

The first special movement of the day came all the way from Frankfurt, but it wasn’t a boring A320 but one of Lufthansa’s A340-300s. Four of these aircraft are currently parked in Munich awaiting a return to service once needed. Don’t mind the minor works to get snow into the right place in the background.

Traffic, as usual these days, was kinda low, but in this light, even small jets of @Cameron’s favorite airline look stunning.

Obviously, the main reason to go spotting was Aegean’s A320neo, since not spotting it would have had me feeling the rage of @Georgios_P

Just like the day before, Qatar Airways sent another A350 from Doha, this time a more closeup-ish shot.

Immediately after, the next special guest from Moscow arrived before continuing its flight to Frankfurt a few hours later.

After the 747, we once again decided to switch positions in order to get a nice perspective of Emirates’ nice belly on the 777.

Immediately after that, a shiny little private jet with a lot of color arrived from Zurich.

The small visitor was directly followed by our next special arrival, inbound from Nur-Sultan - a 747, this time in the -400 version of AeroTransCargo

Back in our original spot, we were then able to catch quad-jet movement number 4 of the day with another 340-300 arriving for parking.

At the same time, we got the info that we were not yet done with four engines mounted to one single plane for the day, since our tiny little private jet M-IABU (kind regards to the IoM @AdamCallow) had filed a test flight for the afternoon.

Right after takeoff, we got all our stuff and went back to final approach for the landing about half an hour later in some nice evening light.

To end the day, we switched locations for a very last time to get some more shots of our AeroTransCargo 747-400 upon lineup for the flight back to Nur-Sultan.

Thanks for visiting this topic! I hope you liked it! See you for the next topic, whenever it might be ;)

I guess at this point I can just tag @everyone lol

Quite the amount of quadjets if you ask me, but I don’t see a DC-8 so I want a refund.

Just kidding lol.

Awesome photos like always @Moritz!

I didn’t promise any specific quad-jets :P

Plus I don’t think I’ve seen that many in one day in a full year

Great shots as always! I get inspired and motivated by your work Moritz.

Wowza! Awesome job my friend!

Wait a second. Is this the $2300 lense?

Those photos are amazing! You are so lucky to have seen so many amazing liveries! :)

I got it for 1600€ but essentially yes lol

Well, that’s far from the variety we used to have before COVID 😅

May I swipe up on your comment so we have a match? 😂

I couldn’t have said it better ;) As always, brilliant shots!

Good photos! I like the UA 787-8 (from I believe KIAD?), the Qatar A359, & the Emirates 77W. All 3 look really nice and clear.

Also, on a side note, I think 10 photos is the max limit for spotting topics, so you may want to remember that the next time you post another spotting topic!

Here before Balloonchaser? Shocking. I love how crisp the photos are, great work as always!

Can you donate it for my personal use? Thanks

I stand to be corrected but that red jet looks like the G450. And that big jet M-IABU which looks like a B757 is owned by the Co-owner of Arsenal, some Russian oligarch he also owns the Dilbar Super Yacht

I really love that Aegean livery!! Nice shots!!
