Medium-haul flying with Qatar’s 787-8. The Qatari flag carrier is the biggest operator of the type in the Middle East and, unusually, has centered most of its Dreamliner fleet around the shorter 787-8 rather than the 787-9, which it also operates. Used primarily on routes to Europe and Africa, QR’s 787s don’t show up stateside, so if you want to fly on one, better hop across the Atlantic!

Boarding and taxi out at PRG. Even though the 787-8s don’t have the superb QSuite business class that most of Qatar Airways’s other widebodies do, the 22 Collins Aerospace Super Diamond business class seats are still excellent, although slightly over 5 hours en route isn’t terribly much time to take advantage of them, or any long-haul business class product, really.
