Clearance:
I felt that clearance for “Option” was late to be given to me. It usually needs to call on Downwind or at the latest Base. It’s too late in “Short final”.

Turn base:
This is normally not used alone, and it is used with “I’ll call your base” to secure separation between other aircraft. So you didn’t have to use it.

Incorrect. It may be used to tell the pilot to turn earlier when on downwind. Maybe to squeeze the aircraft in front of another
