I searched to find a similar topic but their wasn’t one.
As you may or may not know this Saturday the first paying passengers will fly from Perth (YPPH) to London Heathrow (EGLL)non-stop. The flight will cover an epic 9,000 miles(14484km.) The Flight will take over 17 hours and departs from Perth at 6:50pm awst (Australian Western Standard Time) and will arrive at Heathrow at 5am GMT the next day. This flight will be operated by a 787-9 (hopefully VH-ZND!) To fly on this flight it cost around $1200 AUD one way (around £656)but this depends on dates and availability. Qantas have also said that they plan to add a Perth-Paris route if all goes well.
What are you thoughts on this?
Could you sit on a plane for 17 hours?
Adding on to it, if you’re in New York and you wanna get home to Perth fastest, fly to London and then direct to Perth. I have tested in IF and it’s a lot faster than doing New York-LA-Perth (however in reality you have to stop in Brisbane or Sydney before heading to Perth)
I did this flight earlier this month on IF. It took me 17h 44m. Felt long then even when I had other things to do. God knows what it would feel like for real - never ending I’m guessing.
One time I did this flight in IF and due to strpng headwinds, it took me 19 hours. Anyway, this awesome. You can reach the other side of the world in 17 hours!
