Nice topic Ed. It will be stunning to spot aircraft with the new livery.

Honestly the livery looks the same to me what’s different besides the thinner logo on the plane?

The differences are the font of “Qantas Spirit of Australia”, the Kangaroo logo and the red area on the tail.

Edit: It’s not big change.

Looks like the kangaroo’s hand slowly dissapeared from the logo… ouch.

I am a fan of the 3rd last livery, IMHO the new one is cool, but i would consider that the older is way better.

Job Qantas! You repainted 4 aircraft in ten months…

The new one could’ve been better if they kept the original kangaroo with its arm.

That’s actually pretty terrible. How are they going to get them all painted before the centenary?

Here are the changes:

Yeah the 1984 livery with the bold font and gold stripe along the tail was beautiful. Some are actually still painted in that livery, and I spotted one recently.

The kangaroo looked a little out of proportion on the tail, and that was fixed in the later 2007 livery. Here is a list of the liveries:

I hope they put this new livery on the a380 soon!

Me too, I hope they get them all painted for the centenary. It will look great with a massive silver stripe. Hopefully they keep one or two in the old livery just for historical purposes.

Don’t know if your tracking thread involves new airplanes if so. The first Qantas 787-9 is expected to have parts arriving in the next few weeks in Everett.

VH-ZNA is the first registration.

Maybe the 747s becuase those are nearing there end of there lifespan.

Yes it does, any Qantas aircraft in the new livery. Thanks!

I still hope one gets the new paint. The 747 will look the best in this new livery.
