Qantas 787-9 VH-ZNA currently in Hawaii ahead of Sydney delivery

VH-ZNA (Qantas) left Boeing’s Factory in Everett for a 5 hour journey to Honolulu, Hawaii. It is currently scheduled to arrive on Friday, 20th of October, 2017. As I am based in Melbourne, I can’t wait to see it fly for the first time. If anyone is in Honolulu, take the opportunity now to find it around the airport! It may leave tomorrow night, AEDT. Time is unknown but will touch down in Sydney friday morning.

This bird will fly on the domestic network while the crew members gain the experience of this particular aircraft before the MEL-LAX and MEL-PER-LHR flights. VH-ZNA is the first of eight.

Woohoo! Can’t wait to see her soon!

Originally when the QF 787 was announced someone should have made a tracking thread for it. That way we wouldn’t make a topic during every stage of the production etc…

I guess that calls for me to make my topic into a tracking thread.
Edit: Changed the title, we can continue there if you want.

Why does it take 36+ hours to fly from Hawaii to Sydney?

it probably includes the layover.

But it is already in Hawaii.

yes, arrived at 2pm AEDT

Might have a little media event in Honolulu. Maybe advertise their routes?
