QVG’s 747 Month
As we farewell the Boeing 747 from our fleet, we have dedicated an entire month leading up to our 8th anniversary to commemorate the B747 and the significant role it has played in the development of Australian Aviation. This week we are recreating the delivery flight of Qantas’ first B747-238, from Boeing’s Everett Paine Field airport to Qantas’ hub in Sydney.
Additonally, check out this advertisement, which (despite its name saying 1965) was made in the early 1970s to promote the new 747. The aircraft shown is the B747-238.
You can really see how air travel has changed since then!
Join us as we recreate the first flight of the Qantas 747, the delivery flight from the Boeing factory at KPAE to Sydney.
