Hi all - I got this command at KMIA this afternoon while playing. I hadn’t heard this before and hadn’t read it in the manuals before either — anyone got an explanation on what this means for a pilot? I doubt I followed ATC correctly on this, buuut I was able to taxi and takeoff without violations so happy about that!
it is with the new update. You can now do an auto push back by choosing between two points and the atc can now tell you which way to face your tail and face the plane to the runway that is being used.
Hey there @jrbocanD2327, yep, you’ve found a new addition to the ATC commands in 24.4.
With the new auto-pushback feature and just to help ATC control ramp movements, this command directs aircraft pushing back with more precision. Essentially, it tells the aircraft which way they should face following pushback.
In your example, “tail to the north” means that after pushback is complete, your nose should be to the south, and your tail to the north. If there is a taxiway that goes north-south, and another that goes east-west behind your gate, you know which taxiway to push onto and which way to face.
Happy flying! :)
Thank you all!! I did see the auto pushback button on my controls, and hadn’t seen that before either; now I know!
are there certain airport where Auto pushback is available?
like at PHX auto-pushback isnt available
I believe any airports with a taxi network it works on.
oh how dose PHX not have a taxi network?
The airport editors have to add them.
