A very common practice around the world, especially at my home port YSSY is the pushback and Tow forward feature. This works well at congested ports to have aircraft tow forward to disconnect points, and tow to exit and apron to allow other aircraft in/out of their gate.
This with combined instrucion from ATC for towing onto another apron is obviously critical in ensuring streamlined push instructions.
At YSSY, almost half of all international bas require tow forward movements. Bays most notable are Bay 1 tail north, Bays 30/32/51/53, 61 for pushes onto taxiway golf and bays 50/54/56.
Being able to tow aircraft to an off cargo bay for longer Lay overs would work nicely aswell.
Most of the automatic push and tow commands are somewhat unrealistic, manual options would be great to follow push guides that are marked on the aprons.
This would be amazing for those spots where Pushback space is very limited and you don’t want to use yore engines to turn around. Cause that’s not really realistic to do.
And to add to that we need to have “Airline XXX is pushing back” command for Unicom too.
