:airplane: Promoted to Grade 2 — My First Flight Experience! :green_circle:

Departure: ROAH - Naha International Airport, Japan
Arrival: VIDP - Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, India
Aircraft: Boeing 777-300ER- Air India
Flight Time: ~8 hours
Server: Training Server
Flight Type: Long-haul (First after promotion to Grade 2)

:raising_hands: I’ve Just Reached Grade 2!

I’m super happy to share that I’ve been promoted to Grade 2 in Infinite Flight, and I just completed my first long-haul flight on the Training Server! It was an awesome journey flying from Japan to India, using real-world procedures, and enjoying the immersive experience that Infinite Flight offers.

:bullseye: My Goals in Grade 2:

Now that I’m in Grade 2, I’m focusing on:

  1. Improving ATC communication — learning how to properly check in, request taxi, pushback, flight following, approach, and landing clearance
  2. Learning pattern work at smaller airports to improve landing count & XP
  3. Flying more long-haul and realistic routes with correct flight plans
  4. Staying professional — using correct procedures, avoiding violations, and respecting ATC and other pilots

My Path to Grade 3 (Next Goal):

To reach Grade 3 and join the Expert Server, I plan to:
:white_check_mark: Fly daily (especially landings)
:white_check_mark: Practice perfect ATC communication
:white_check_mark: Follow real-world procedures
:white_check_mark: Avoid violations and stay safe

I’d love to hear any tips from experienced Grade 3+ pilots too. Thanks Infinite Flight for making flight sim so engaging and realistic. Onwards to Grade 3! :yellow_circle:

Congrats!

Some info about flying pattern work:

The image above shows the basic pattern legs, each leg have its own name. Turning left to fly a pattern is Left traffic pattern, turning right is Right traffic pattern.

Typically, prop aircraft flies the pattern at 1000ft AAL, jet aircraft at 1500ft AAL.

Reference speeds for jet aircraft are:
200-220 KIAS when on downwind
180-200 KIAS when on base

When to report at uncontrolled airports:
When you enter downwind, when turning base, and on final

Happy flying!

“I understand!”

No I’m just kidding. I’m fine with AI as long as you can acknowledge you’re using it and if you’re just trying to communicate more clearly.

chatgpt (forgot which model) used to add in the word perchance, which isnt even a real word, into essays and stuff due to what it was trained on. so if you saw perchance on an essay it was definitely ai

Totally get where you’re coming from. Clear communication matters way more than pretending to be something you’re not. As long as the vibe is honest and real, we’re all good.

Yeah, I remember that! Some older versions of ChatGPT had this weird habit of slipping in words like “perchance”—like who even talks like that in real life? It totally gave away that it was
