Project South East Asia [WIP Photos!]

Sneak peek of a small (but highly requested) area of the airport 👀

Seems like just before I arrived at the gate in that area. I just despawned and that heavy traffic really makes me want to fly again

Congrats to the team for a successful update day!

Well done to the team for pushing out Ho Chi Minh during the last update. Finally an alternative airport to fly into besides Phnom Penh and Suvarnabhumi 😂

The 2 airports which I personally am looking forward to is KLIA and Don Mueang. Hope that we can see more progress photos and eventual release soon 🙏

Thanks for enjoying VVTS so far! I certainly had put all of my effort into it, and VVNB is under progress right now! For about KUL and DMK, I don’t know when will these airports be back in progress since all of the editors working at these airports are busy in their life at the moment. But I still keep fingers crossing for these two iconic airports at ASEAN!

No worries there, we are all busy with our own lives. Just stating that both VTBD and WMKK are the 2 airports that I’m looking forward to. Hopefully it gives the AET a little bit of inspiration to get them out. Cheers!

I don’t believe they are busy in their personal life, just refuse to build the airport especially WMKK 😑 as main airport in the middle Southeast Asia even they got free time and complete information about the airport details, while others main airport around us already 3D.

So you believe really that we’re a bunch of people with no lives? That’s quite a cheap statement you made. Big airports specially take an incredible amount of time to complete, even when you have all the information available. We all have our lives, affairs to take care of: school, work, family, personal activities. Our lives don’t orbit around airport editing, and even Infinite Flight.

You’re right! My time doesn’t in fact matter, and I shouldn’t be putting more emphasis on pertinent matters. In fact, I should have set all those things aside and focused solely on your needs because apparently your demands outweigh everything else that goes on in everyone’s lives.

As a matter of fact, I have spent countless hours, possibly amounting somewhere in the hundreds of hours trying to gather as much information as I could on this airport. This was all done out of my own volition and definitely motivated by something other than your selfish demands however long ago that may be.

Unfortunately, circumstances in my life has changed and while I do still have access to these documents which I am privy to, it’s statements like these that make me reconsider who stands to benefit from the hours of work that I’d have put in up to that point.

There were no financial incentives nor were there even guarantees that my effort would yield anything. Yet, while I’ve still done my best, ultimately it needed to be handed off because of a series of circumstances well beyond my control.

All things considered, now that you have shown your true colours, maybe it is for the better that WMKK remains without its 3D elements. Not because I wouldn’t want to see it added after all the hard work from the talented individuals involved. But because what’s the point of putting in all this effort to hear statements like these at the end of it all?

Take a good look in the mirror and change your attitude.

Kuala Lumpur is defiantly the missing link for asia/oceania. The amount of times i’ve wanted to do flights to there and then realised ‘oh it’s not 3d, nvm imma fly to Singapore for the 20 thousandth time’. Honestly can’t wait for it to release because I can actually use Malaysian airlines on realistic routes.

Hopefully we get those, so please go vote for them in the Features section!

Out of curiosity, how has the Changi rework been coming along?

Yes, KLIA is a huge hub for the region but that doesn’t mean that other airports are not important as well. I’m also equally bummed that Ipoh was pushed out instead of Kuching Intl, Penang Intl, or even Senai JB. But come on la, these airports are NOT done by Infinite Flight team but instead by one of our own people.

If you haven’t realised, I have been hoping and been patiently waiting for Don Mueang Intl for the past year or so already. And if you want to debate on whether KLIA or Don Mueang Intl is more important and ‘easier’ to develop, let me remind you that Don Mueang is one of the first commercial airports in Asia, so much so that Malayan Airways wasn’t founded until almost 30 years later in 1946. Surely with the airport having so much history and documentation, it would be one of the first to be made 3D in Infinite Flight, right?

If you really want it so much in 3D, seriously ah… why not you apply to be a member of the Airport Editing Team and pick up on the progress for the rest of us ASEANs? If it’s so easy, kau buat je abang, you do it bro 🙏

I already applied 2 years ago bro but they paused recruitment until further notice and I have no complaint about it. So nothing else I can do to edit the airport even ada experience nak buat. 😬

Summary

Here’s one of my complex work in Trainz (Mobile) games as proof. Too many Spline to edit (similar with Infinite Flight) with limited resources (no custom objects) which I spent 2 years making this routes based on real life. Scenery will come later… 😅

Maybe it looks easy for you but trust me, it’s hard like layering the same fence
for tunnel, realistic track gradient and especially railtrack on first image without ruining other tracks and too sharp cornering. Same with Infinite Flight when you add/edit blocks building or pavement too without broke other layers.

Sorry if this image off topic here but this is one of my example work I can show. Hopefully, IFAET resumed their recruitment ASAP and continue to improve my skill into Infinite Flight

You ownself mentioned it’s hard and took you 2 years just to make the tracks. Okay la you already applied but haven’t heard back so my advice is to just take it easy and just wait. The people who are working on KLIA are already aware that it’s an airport that’s highly anticipated, so I’m sure they also want to push it out as fast as they can.

But, your comment that you don’t believe that they’re busy with other things going on with their lives and that they refuse to speed up the progress on KLIA… it’s uncalled for. Even though I don’t have any experience with AET, my point still stands that you can’t put expectations for people who are doing this on a voluntary basis.

I absolutely love flying SIN-BKK both IRL and on IF, but I never complained that VTBS terminals and Jewel at Changi looks like blocks of cheese now… I remembered that custom models like Tom Bradley terminal at LAX are really difficult to model and if I can’t do anything to change about them, then just live with it and it’ll eventually be made better by people who are capable of making those changes.

Bottom line is, just be patient and don’t insult those who are appointed to make the things that you want. We’re all people here, doesn’t hurt to be just that little bit kinder. Cheers brother

Airport editors cannot make custom buildings, that’s all up the IF developers themselves.

Yes, I remember reading somewhere along those lines 😅 can’t remember exactly which post/article. So for what it is, all the airports in SEA are absolutely amazing haha especially Changi Airport (I work as a passenger relations officer here so it’s close to my heart)

Sadly, not too much progress these days as both active editors are busy. Thankfully work should be resuming soon!
