Hello, can anyone clarify the process for joining IFAET for me?
It’s been five months now since I applied, and I met all the admission requirements. I don’t understand why I haven’t heard anything back, other than a message from a bot thanking me for my application. I know, of course, that there’s a possibility of a waiting list or even a sort of backlog. I don’t think I’m the only one in this situation wondering: Have I been accepted? Do I have to wait months or even a year? Are there too many applicants?

After the acknowledgment of your application, you won’t hear anything until you get the message saying you’ve been added.
Based on what I’ve seen there are likely hundreds of applications, and they are only adding a few a day or so if that, so the backlog will be months-long.
The IFAET team have experienced a surge in applications, and are slowly working their way through them. The acceptance process has slowed down since the beginning, due to the amount of training required for new airport reviewers, and the backlog in applications.
I applied 8 days after the applications opened, and I heard about a month ago that I was still 80th in line.
As long as you maintain good standing in the community, and keep an active pro subscription, everyone will be added eventually. It is not due to a permanent/indefinite pause in acceptances (at least, from the last I heard), however, more of a numbers issue with the overwhelming amount of new editors.
Me also…,Even you can wait over a year just to be accepted. According to what I know ; because the high number of participants and the time required for them to fit in and know how to use there tools so you might wait so long.
