It’s great to have AP+ for long-haul flights, never have to keep my iPad running the simulator for 10hrs. But I still find some problem.
The flight level never changes. Even I set different altitude for step climb, the AP+ holds the altitude when I leave.
It seems bugs in fuel consumption. I have a sin to jfk flight with fuel that estimate flight time is 18hrs. I leave after fly 2 hrs, and when I return the ETE to DEST is 3.5hrs, however, the fuel remaining is 52% which allows me fly another 12hrs.
Despite those problems, it’s still great to have the new function.
So I have just done Perth, Australia to London Heathrow, I put 19/20 hours of fuel in the tank for the flight, got to cruise and put it on AP+, i’ve just resumed it with 35 minutes left of the flight after 15 hours of flying and it still says I had 12 hours of fuel remaining but when ive flown this flight off AP+ ive only had under 3 hours left of fuel left remaining at this stage. I don’t know if others are finding the same problem
I have I usually run a 16-18 HR flight over night and I kept speed at 500kts I wake up the next morning and my flight either didn’t have fuel or I had 30-50% left, then AP+ comes and I am left with about 80% fuel left,I kind of like this because I don’t have to stress on my flight crashing while at the same time I also want a realistic fuel distribution.
Yeah I was doing a long haul Sydney to London and I put max fuel which is 20 hrs. After I put AP+ I continued the flight a day later however as I neared Heathrow the fuel was at 16 hrs.
So literally 20 percent less than when I started where it normally should be close to zero!
Not only that I couldn’t land on Appr mode bc the aircraft was still overweight and very heavy
