Pro tips for long hauls

Hey IFC! I just wanted to know some of your guys pro tips for long hauls to avoid your device from crashing mid flight. I am just about to embark for KEWR-OMDB so I want to make sure my game doesn’t crash. My iPad is an Air Gen 3. Thanks!

I know it’s pretty standard but here’s what I do:

Turn brightness/sound all the way down
Turn all graphics to low, fps to 30
Go into cockpit mode and zoom all the way into the seat
Sometimes I’ll take my case off to prevent my device from overheating

Hope this helps!

Make sure your camera is pointing down at the seat. This way, your device does not need to keep generating scenery.

For the graphics part do you turn all of your graphics down in flight only for the cruising portion or do you turn down all of your graphics before starting the flight?

Typically I’ll just turn them down just for cruise but if the airport is really busy, I’ll turn them down before my flight or keep them down for landing so my device doesn’t crash. But I won’t usually have them down all the time.

These tips usually help me when doing long hauls:

Lower Graphics to Low

Airplane count to low or none

Screen Brightness at low

At cruising, put it to cockpit view and zoom into the ceiling so that way there are less graphics that have to be loaded in and it helps it not overheat

Also, I know its kind of obvious but make sure you have you device plugged in. Even for shorter hauls when your pretty sure it has enough battery, it never hurts to plug it in.

Don’t forget to clear your cache as well.

enabling low power will cause the device to close automatically

Nope for me I always leave it on both on the device and on the game.

it doesnt???

Low power mode in-game limits your frame rate to 10fps when the device hasn’t been touched in a while. It helps a lot with preventing crashes
