Post Being Hidden - Not Really Justified, Kind of Curious

Hey all!

This isn’t so much a complaint as it as just me wondering why someone flagged my post, seeing as it wasn’t very “offensive” or likewise and was simply me making a remark. I’m curious as to why a single community member can hide someone’s post, as their opinion may be biased or they may not share the same opinion as other members?

Here are screenshots below of my post and then the automated message that followed (this is after it had been flagged the first time, I went it and edited it so it would show up again. The reason was “off topic” the first time, but was different the second time.)

Any explanation that can be offered is greatly appreciated.

With Gratitude,
Gabriel

Your best bet would be to message a moderator or staff member to handle it. You won’t really find an answer by making a topic. :)

Sometimes and in many cases, people will flag posts just because they disagree with them. It can be annoying, but we just have to deal with it, and let a staff member do their thing.

It happens to the best of us, but don’t worry about it

As I said earlier in the post, I’m not complaining/looking for it to be handled, I’m more curious why a single person who hasn’t undergone any training to moderate the forum can have such an impact. Nevertheless, thanks for the feedback and I’ll keep this in mind in the future if I run into challenges regarding this.

Happened to me yesterday. After it happened, I just sorta looked back and found that some could have found my post offensive, even though I didn’t think it was. I try to use it as a learning opportunity to help me understand others in different ways.
