Possible request to add to the API

as i sit here scrolling through the documentation, i have either overlooked this or it simply isnt there…

with what i’m trying to build, i’ve come to the conclusion that it would be quite useful if i could call the liveAPI and it return 2 things regarding persistent aircraft in Live mode:

  1. for aircraft on the ground - whether there is a pilot active
  2. for airborne aircraft - whether the flight is in AP+

If this is already directly possible, please point me to the documentation cuz i clearly am missing it. if this is already possible in a round-about way, some assistance getting this set up would be greatly appreciated. And lastly, if this is currently not possible at all, please consider this my humble plea for the functionality to be added.

Yes, pilotState provides this through the Get Flights endpoint:

Value State Meaning
0 Active Pilot is active
1 AwayInFlight Pilot is away while airborne
2 AwayParked Pilot is away while parked
3 InBackground Aircraft continues without a connected pilot

For a parked persistent aircraft, 0 means an active pilot; 2 means an away pilot; 3 means background persistence. For a known airborne aircraft, 3 indicates AP+.

AwayInFlight = 1 does not mean AP+, it just means the device hasn’t had any input in a while.
