Hello everyone,
I would like to propose a new feature called Possible Pilot Deviation, which could help make ATC operations more realistic and fair, while also giving pilots a chance to appeal before receiving a violation.
Feature Idea
ATC should have an option to issue a Possible Pilot Deviation (PPD) to an aircraft in addition to the immediate violation system that we are having.
When ATC issues a PPD:
-
The system generates a unique code for that pilot.
-
The pilot gets 24 hours to appeal the deviation if they believe the report was incorrect.
-
During the appeal, the pilot must enter the unique code, which verifies the timer.
-
If the pilot does not appeal within 24 hours, or if the appeal is rejected, the system will automatically issue a Level 2 violation.
Example ATC communication
Tower: Delta 1943, possible pilot deviation. Advise ready to copy.
Delta 1943: Ready, go ahead.
Tower: Contact KJFK Tower appeal system on code 9123XXX.
Delta 1943: Will contact on 9123XXX.
Tower: Readback correct, thank you.
Why this feature would help
-
Adds more realism to ATC procedures
-
Prevents unfair instant violations
-
Gives pilots a chance to explain mistakes
-
Encourages better behavior without being too harsh
-
Makes Expert Server moderation more structured
