A portable charger in an overhead locker caught fire on a Spring Airlines flight from Harbin to Nagoya operated by an A320. Passengers noticed smoke and fire, and it was all extinguished by cabin crew in the air. The plane was diverted to Shenyang and reached Nagoya with a 6 and a half hour delay. No injuries have been reported.

Cheap Chinese chargers can cause fires. Not surprising when you can pick them up for USD $0.25 anywhere in China.
