Polynesian Blue 737-800 | “Tepu’itea”

Polynesia’s Pride

Polynesian Blue Background:

The now defunct airline of Polynesian Blue (Virgin Samoa) was founded in October 2005 as a joint venture airline between The Government of Samoa, and Virgin Blue Holdings, both of them having a 49% stake with the remaining 2% with an investment company. Their headquarters are based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane, Australia while their hub is at Samoa in Faleolelo with Mark Pitt as CEO… They operated only (1) 737-800 throughout its existence which they got from flag carrier Polynesian Airways now known as Samoa Airways. Sadly in May 2017, the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi, wrote to Virgin Australia its intention to withdraw its stake from Polynesia Blue following years of government unsatisfaction. Then the airline shut down, completely.

Livery of Tepu’itea

The livery has a candy red base with a color pallete of Deep Blue and Eurowhite. The airline name plastered in a Presta Medium Italic Font with the word “polynesian” and “.com” in euro white with the word “blue” in Deep Blue with a eurowhite outline.
At the tail consists of a square pattern with deep blue and eurowhite with the country’s famous tree, the Niu in a light blue tint. Bellow the cockpit window is a Samoan woman, with the nickname of the aircraft “Tepu’itea”.

I kinda like this livery even though it’s messy in some way, very cute looking livery. It really makes Samoans think that they’re in home when they glance at the livery. Slightly decent in culture representation. Another “quite” retro livery can be a good addition to IF as well.
