Please, Switch to Another Frequency!

Hello,

I’ve found the need to make a post about this recurring problem. So let’s clear this up:

After your takeoff, when Tower tells you “Frequency change approved”, that means you are to switch to a Unicom frequency.

Every time I control on the Expert Server, 3 out of 5 aircraft decide to stay on your frequency after you tell them “Frequency change approved”. We don’t execute this command to you guys for fun. When our frequency gets busy, the last thing we need is an inactive flight strip clogging things up.

Yes, we have the ability to remove flight strips, but we may forget to remove the strip sometimes when there’s heavy traffic.

So please pilots, when ATC tells you “Frequency change approved, good day!”, switch to a Unicom frequency, and help a controller out. :)

The swipe function is there just for this reason. If you forget, it’s on you. No need to go ranting here about it.

I’m just letting pilots know what’s the right thing to do when ATC gives them this command. That’s the main point of this post.

Thankyou, now I know what it means, I won’t do it again :)

Not really anymore. After the swipe right came in, IFATC are told to send one freq change and get rid of the strip. Easy as pie.

This was a major problem. That’s why we fixed it with the strips.
