I just wanted to give a heads up, after arriving in Honolulu it was an interesting approach. I was told to hold and make left turns, however you brought another user so close to me, that to avoid a collision I had to make a right turn. We missed eachother by about 300ft, and since I was maintaining 7000 and they were still descending, if i had continued turning left it would of been more of a disaster. Then i was told to follow instructions, since I made the right turn to avoid them. Seems like a little mistake, just wanted to let you know why. Thanks!
Sorry to hear of the experience and situation you encountered.
Your best bet here would be to contact the controller (politely–of course) who issued the warning to you and explain your actions to them. They may be able to provide some more insight into what happened and the process behind issuing the said warning. Controllers are human to, and don’t always get it right. But rest assured every session is an opportunity to learn, and I’m sure they would appreciate the chance to learn of any errors that occurred.
