The colour of the wind direction shows the direction of the wind. Red means a tailwind, which is unfavorable to land in, but it doesn’t mean that the runway is closed
I definitely think the expert server’s requirements need a change. Perhaps only allowing access to it if you have an IFC account linked to your IF account. However it is not as simple as one may think, as IF also has to think about it from a business’s standpoint and how changing it drastically could potentially affect revenue and interest in the game negatively
I don’t know many cases where planes land with tailwinds in real life. Even crosswinds they don’t land with a diagonal tailwind. Again, it’s not really about that - as the original post shows it makes things unpredictable and chaotic when people don’t try to stick with realistic and consistent operations at uncontrolled airports.
I will tell you what happened to me on the expert server. I was doing KMIA - KBOS, on an E190. I was on final on runway 22L and the ATC cleared me for landing. While I was approaching the airport a guy just crossed the runway without permission and I almost hit him and I had to go around. It has on the expert server
Same here. I’m flying Navigator 7DN from KJFK-FAOR and when I was performing an approach into FAOR a Citation guy follows me around and broke the entire TCAS system.
Same happened here on Thursday I flew as Channex 99PU from Manchester to Nice and when I took off this BA E190 comes in straight in front of me deciding to land in the opposite end of the runway that I took off from. To maintain separation I sharply rose the nose of the plane almost resulting in a stall. I landed safely after in Nice but it was wrong for the BA to do that
