I stumbled across some very old photos I took before 21.1 was released. Back then, aircraft we now consider Legacy (and even some older non-Legacies such as the 747 and 787) had this funny plastic-like texture, which I thought would be cool to remind the community of.
And here’s an attempt at a simple edit:

most are also still plastic lol, except the b777, b757, the embraers and other new aircraft, IF did a good job on them.
I believe if we also get better shadows the models will look better automatically (like shadows of the wings on the fuselage and vice versa). I believe that this is about to change in the next years. IF really shows a nice evolution towards realism.
Not nearly as much as before 21.1, though.
