Planespotting in Istanbul (LTFM)

Sup! Recently I visited Istanbul, and before getting to it, I found out about “Istanbul spotter” weekly event. I took some photos from 2-hour active spotting in Istanbul. I do not regret that I have spent almost all day getting there and spotting. I will drop my best photos from Runway 34L arrivals down
there :)

Trip to IST

I was travelling via metro from station “Hacil” with connection from line M2 to line M11 on station “Gayrettepe”. Trip to IST took about 2 hours.

Istanbul Spotter experience

When I arrived to IST, I had troubles finding bus stop to spotting location. After that, I went to R stage and found “Spotter service” bus stop. After that, a list of registered people was given to me and I ticked my name, phone number and other parameters you filled in form on IGA website. Special spotter bus transported a group of spotters to special location, where You are able to get there only by bus. We were spotting for 1,5 hours and were transported back to IST terminal. Snacks and drinks were available at special building.

That’s a neat trip, nice to see a spotter friendly airport.

I don’t like the blurry background edit of the photos, maybe something to correct for your next trip. I did like the Istambul photos, did you visit Hagia Sophia?

Sadly, no. But I am looking forward to visit it next year.
