Hey guys, hopefully you a guys are having a good day/night. I just needed some help regarding planespotting. I wanna get serious with planespotting so my question was if any of you can recommend a camera that has good quality and easy to use. Right now I use my phone which to say the least does not have good quality/zoom. If you guys could also recommend lens that works with the camera, that would be awesome. I’m willing to save up and pay for it so let’s see you guys recommendations.
I’m not an expert, as I’ve been using a real camera since January, but I have the canon eos 2000d with the sigma 150-600mm lens and i think it is great, i would rather have a 100-400 mm lens though
I use an iPhone 13, and i recommend using zoom 3, and not being directly under the plane’s path. Recommended 50-100ft+ to the right or left of the approach path
A Canon T5 is what I started with, it’s fairly cheap compared to most newer DSLR platforms. Do research on these types of cameras as they are considerably more in depth compared to a phone for photography. I also started with a 75-300mm which is decent for airport photography, they are cheaper than the bigger lenses, but a great start nonetheless. Hope this helps!
Thank you guys for the help. I will use your tips and help to find a camera and lens that suits me. I’ll do a lot of research and try to find a good one. Either way thanks.
