There’s lots of aircraft that have relatively decent external models that can compare to things like the 737 and a320, such as the 747 series, and the crj series. Now becuase full reworks take a very long time due to a high level of detail, I think I good solution to make some older aircraft actually nice to fly would be to give them just live cockpits and maybe a few physics changes. I think this would be a faster and more efficient way to make these aircraft flyable rather than giving them a full rework, which can take up to a year. Now I’m not saying that they should never get reworks, but cockpits for 747, crjs, md11/dc10 and even the c130 would massively improve their flyability for the time being until there full rework, which probably won’t come for a few years.
All those will get dynamic screens when they get turn for a rework. Make sure to vote for it to show your support.
Yea, but I more mean as a substitute for there full rework, which won’t come for a very long time for sure. I do think they deserve live cockpits in the meantime. Also kindove unrelated, but with the 787-9 rework being up next after the neo, does anyone know if the other variants with get a live cockpit as well, even though it’s been confirmed only the -9 with be reworked it wouldnt make sense not to give the rest cockpits
Remember that the B789 will have an entirely different external model to fit the new cockpit. If you forcibly put the new cockpit into the old external model they won’t fit
Ah yea that makes sense
Exactly!
The same also applies the other way around.
Giving the current 747 model a new cockpit, would mean it wouldn’t fit in a completely new model, if one would be created in the future.
The team always makes sure that the right decisions are made in terms of updating or reworking a model. Those can be hard though.
