Anyone else notice that controlling on playground is slowly getting worse?? Some pilots just don’t care and it’s making it insanely frustrating to control, ideally controllers should be able to have some power to stop insubordinate pilots?? Especially when trying to sequence planes for landing, so many cant be bothered with the wait so they just ignore your heading request and push in line… So annoying!
If you think you’re good at controlling you might contact one of the recruiters.
People definitely listen on the advanced ;)
I enjoy it but I really want to be confident before applying to become advanced, and the only way to do that is practice practice practice! But all too often there are pilots making it difficult 👎🏻
I hate when those same pilots cut in front of me.
Your exactly right, I’m not an ATC but when I’m taxing and when I hold short, there can be people who just sit on the runway or they violate the rules and stuff like that.
It’s getting REALLY ANNOYING!

I don’t understand why some pilots fly on playground when the don’t listen to ATC. Those kind of people who fly like that belong on the free flight server.
EXACTLY, it so ANNOYING!
I found out that if you go into paid regions on playground there aren’t that many whack jobs wh fly in them because they don’t want to waste money trolling people
@Nick_Catalano Yeah I’ve noticed that as well. It’s mostly the serious pilots who purchase the paid regions.
That’s why I got live plus. It saves money and me from trolls

The problem is when you want to be ATC you have to go with a busy region otherwise you won’t have any planes to coordinate. That region is mostly Southern California which is almost always completely overfilled and full of trolls…
And that’s why I announce when I’m controlling on the forums: to get pilots to fly in.
I am an ATC and i hate it when pilots do that
Please put me on your alert list for active regions.
Thank-you
Indeed it is
I totally agree I was atc in Hawaii yesterday which is a paid region all the pilots did as I asked but I went to Southern California and only a few pilots did as I asked
I’m on KLAX tower someone wants to land in to incoming planes I said to go around and come in for a different runway and he wouldn’t listen so I had to clear all traffic just for him to land on that runway
I agree. However when I am being given heading vectors many times the controller has set me on a heading and forgotten about me and I fly off away from the airport where I will eventually turn myself. This does create uncertainty and makes me keep an eye if they’ve forgotten about me or not.
That’s definitely a fair call, it can sometimes be quite easy to do though. Controllers will no what I mean when I say, that when controlling a very busy tower or approach frequency all we see is a big pile of planes all aiming for the runway but with no order, and it’s nearly impossible to actually regain a nice neat and tidy pattern and set sequencing due to far to many pilots basically…ignoring your requests… So it always looks like a child has just thrown a jig saw puzzle across the room… And picking out those good pilots who do follow instruction so much harder. It sucks for me and the pilot when you have cleared them to land with the correct spacing but then some idiot cuts in trying to decent from 9000 at 300kts and ruins it for everyone who acted properly and patiently. So on behalf of controllers out there… Sorry to those good pilots who take it seriously and follow instruction! If only everyone did it!
