Damn. That’s major and probably very embarrassing for the airline.
4 out of every 10 pilots. That’s not good.
I am sorry what!
Are they trained to fly?
Not confirmed but it came out that they paided people to take the tests. Ill link the article
Good move from Europe, it can be dangerous for the passengers gambling their life on that plane that they don’t have an unlicensed pilot.
Somehow, they must have some idea of what to do. They mostly just set autopilot just after takeoff and have it land for them. But something needs to be done about it.
Like 90% of pilots in IF?
Anyway, this is crazy and maybe happening in other companies aswell?
I can assure you @anon38496261 doesn’t do that and I don’t turn on autopilot until 10k feet 😂
It’s really shocking that it came that far, but the reveals coming from Pakistan are just devastating. The whole system urgently needs changes to ensure safety is the very first priority and ensured.
Lol yep. I’m crazy. I hand fly until 20,000 feet at least. Then I hand fly from base to landing. It’s just better.
It’s relating to experience, for example they may not have passed their PPL or something like that. Either way they aren’t experienced enough to be pilots and have cut corners. It would be like me getting a degree while pretending to complete modules along the way thus I don’t actually know anything about the subject that those modules should have covered.
That doesn’t sound very good, honestly. I’ve heard this before but had no idea it was on such a big scale. I hope the airline fixes this.
Holy heck! My respect for PIA went 📉
It’s not just PIA, the entire Pakistani aviation system is having this problem.
Scary indeed
Damn 😂
A PIA B777 flies over my head every 2 days when flying out of Birmingham…
So, this is crazy! They kinda had the ban coming though, cause 40% of their pilots are unlicensed. That’s scary if I do say so myself.
They better of have suspended their EU authorization. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
No wonder they have so many accidents
