Phonetic pronounciation settings?

Not sure if this belongs in support, but how or what should my phone settings be in regards to audio or that text to speech thing, in order to have my taxi instructions be read back as phonetic alphabet?
I believe mines were read back as "taxi via “Ey, Eee” instead of Alpha Echo while another pilots transmission was read back correctly

Hello!

What’s happening is due to your phone’s TTS engine (text to speech) settings.

Here’s a few things to try:

  1. Check TTS settings

Head over to phone settings > general management > text to speech

And set engine to:

“Google text to speech engine”

  1. Update TTS engine from playstore

Search google text to speech on playstore and make sure it’s updated

  1. Turn off “Spell out” if it’s on

It’s not an option in most phones so you might not see it
