Hello today at PHOG the IFATC was bad , so I requested to takeoff remaining in the pattern and he said cleared for takeoff the I took off and he said contact the departure and that’s a mistake , then I got the clearance to land and I was on short final and he let someone to line up and I go around and I’m sure that he know then he said to me again contact departure, then he didn’t give me clearance to land so I reported my position then I was on final and he didn’t still give me the clearance and I said twice I’m in final so I should report my positions because I didn’t get clearance to land and he said ( avoid sending duplicate messages )

They may of done a radar pattern if you said you came back around and landed. A radar pattern is being vectored around the airport traffic pattern.

The controller probably had a plan but if I were them I’d hand it to approach as well if it was active.

They wouldn’t be able to request remaining in the pattern if so.

I meant the controller. He should have said contact approach if anything, not departure.
