Howdy IFC :waving_hand:

Well as a child, my mother, grandmother and I would fly to Phoenix to visit my aunt once a year. It was the early 90’s and almost every trip (even domestic) were booked exclusively using a travel agent.

According to what I’ve remember, we took a trip where the 3 of us had separate seats and it was definitely on a widebody. The only widebody America West had were 747’s at the time. Again, it was the 90’s so I remember air phones being in the back of the seat, ashtrays in the armrest (that still had old ash in them) and plugging in headphones to listen to the various radio stations or the scheduled in-flight movie. I was about 6 or 7 years old at the time and I also vividly remember the pilot giving me some wings to pin on my shirt.

Also, I remember one trip where we were about to takeoff from JFK and either the Captain or the FO came on the PA and told us to look out of the window to see a Concorde taking off. I was sitting the middle of the 747 so I couldn’t see much but I definitely heard and felt the power of the Concorde.

Aside from that my other memories are great breakfasts like tasty omelettes and pancakes; even in economy (I don’t think America West had any sort of premium product).
