Current PFDs in IF only show us the upper speed tape. It would be great if the lower one was added (bottom left), and ensure people are aware of their stall speeds on approach.
Additionally, the gap between the speed tapes reduces to a certain range when the aircraft is set up for landing. However, in IF, the upper tape doesn’t drop during this landing phase.
VOTED! All the best, hopefully we get this piece of important education value coming true!
I mean… anything to raise stall awareness >cough<death>cough< a habit, even within a sim!
This would be most useful, let me clear up a vote for it.
This would at least ensure you’re neither too fast or too slow for landing.
Damn helpful! There is nothing more to say than YES.
Hope this is in the works. Just ended a flight where I didn’t notice my speed dipping below the normal landing speed (was fighting a 16kt crosswind at EKCH). I stalled at about 50ft above the runway, speed around 116 (obviously 789s don’t land that slow haha). This feature would greatly help.
Still waiting for this to get added.
Just concluded a flight (A321, load 61%) and it seemed like my stall speed was higher than usual. Disengaged A/P and immediately stalled. Still landed though (No one’s gonna fly VietJet again)
This feature would make it easier to notice whenever a certain speed is too low for a specific weight, and thus reduce such incidents.
Bumping this. Since it seems there is already a way for the stall warning to be triggered at different speeds, there’s a working stall function. Therefore, that minimum speed can always be tied to the upper end of the lower red line.
You get my vote on this one!
