Petition to bring JetBlue (B6) to Manchester, NH

I was thinking, and would like the community’s opinion on this.

The airport has been wanting B6, or JetBlue, to fly here, as New Hampshire is the only New England state that JetBlue does not serve. I know this airport very well, and the Airport Management has not even done a thing to try to even lure them here. It’s been years, and not one bit have they even persuaded B6 to fly here.
All i see is that JetBlue keeps saying that they are “keeping Manchester in their radar”, and the airport “we will eventually see B6 here”. The last time B6 came to Manchester was two months ago. The result? “We have no decision regarding Manchester to announce at this time”. Same thing For the past couple of years.

What do you think? The airport has done a petition before, but would a new petition work out?

Similar to ORH, JetBlue should only do flights to South Florida airports. Connecting MHT to the Florida market will earn them more passengers.

That is what the airport is “trying” to do. The route is planned to be MHT-FLL. But it never happened because they don’t even attempt to bring in B6.

Do you live in New Hampshire.

I live in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Do you know how many people who will actually make use of jetBlue in NH?

I live over in Hampton.

Oh, the people in NH would be GLAD to see JetBlue serve manchester. No more needing to go to Boston.

But don’t Southwest and American serve many useful routes there already?

Southwest does fly to Orlando and Tampa. The problem is that Ft. Lauderdale is only a “Seasonal” flight. The prices have also gone up a lot, including Southwest.

We want JetBlue to serve Manchester to Ft. Lauderdale. It would mean lower prices. Prices at MHT have been very high recently.

Fair enough. It’s either get jetBlue to fly, or get Southwest to make their routes more permanent.

Exactly what I was saying, either we get B6 here, or they make better route decisions.

If there wasn’t a shuttle that transported passengers between Downtown Manchester to Logan Airport, then maybe MHT would see more service than now.

We’ve lost most of our routes over the years. The airport does NOTHING to try to get them back.

That’s because there’s pretty much a direct connection to Logan which has much more space and more airline destinations. Maybe if Logan and Manchester split some of the load, then I can see see more potential in it. Logan is rapidly expanding which is attrracting more and more customers from around New England. Until Boston says “no more” then some airliners could move to Manchester to lessen the load.

More space huh? More like they’re running out of space.

They’re only running out of space because Eastie residents don’t support their expansions. There’s lots of real estate for Logan to expand to, it’s just people don’t want it.

I sent an email to the Airport Management :)

No. If JetBlue believed there would be enough traffic on the route, they would have done it. There obviously isn’t. I doubt that a couple of signings on a petition made in a community Flight Sim Nerds will make JetBlue change their mind.
They want money from the route, if they did think there would be enough passengers on the route to earn money, they would have done it.
