Hi what Altitude is the quickest and will have enough fuel for a 787 to fly to London Heathrow
It all depends on the winds, check out the following website for some info :)
I recommend using FPLtoIF. It will give you all the relevant info you need for your flight 🙂
I just flew jfk to Heathrow at fl 32 cause I’m scared of anything above that. 🤣
Edit: also in a 787-9
Thanks I will check
Here you go, this will help
😂😂😂 I can tell you that in a 787 you would be safe at 38000 without any problem
Heavily depends on the aircraft’s weight and winds. A fully loaded B787 won’t start it’s flight at FL380. If they would try, there’s a chance to stall the aircraft. As more fuel is burned as higher the aircraft can fly. :)
I don’t think a chance to stall the aircraft FL380 just risk of lot of fuel being used.
I managed to do this in IF once, earned my 6 violations and week off expert.
To successful fly the PERTH to LONDON route on a 789, which I have done at least three times now, make use of FPLTOIF / simbrief and also IF Assistant. With IF Assistant you can program in the step climbs for the waypoints that simbrief give you.

Step climbs for above route. all at speed M0.85
FL350, I use it every time
Step climb. On my most recent flight from EGLL/LHR - KJFK/JFK I started out with 65% fuel. I cruised at 34000 feet. When I got down to 40% fuel, I climbed up to 36000 feet. At 30% I went up to 38000 feet and then at 20% I reached 39000 feet which I stayed at until I began my descent about 20 minutes later. If you are wondering about time take the most northernly route because you will get some nice winds that could save you up to an hour. Good luck and have a great time on your flight ;)
