Hi everyone,
I have a 2020 iPad Pro and apart from the huge battery drainage my iPad has other problems running IF, mainly that it cant stay at 60 FPS at all (usually in busier airports or when I take off or land it can even fall to 30-40), i also have an iPhone 16 Pro and it stays at 60 FPS basically whatever I do, so Im thinking of buying a new iPad and i just wonder if someone that has one of the newer iPad Pros can tell me if performance on their iPads is great (stays at 60 FPS no matter what you do) or if iPhones just have much better chips and those new iPads frequently fall below 60 like my older iPad.
You can’t expect a 5 year old device (hardware-wise) to be able to run Infinite Flight smoothly at 60fps, especially at busy airports. Also it may help to lower graphics settings to Medium, if not Low and be restarting the device before every flight.
I don’t have an iPad Pro - but I have the M2 iPad Air and it performs flawlessly at 60fps 99% of the time. The M2 to M4 iPad Pros should have no issues running Infinite Flight at max settings.
Contrasting opinion here—I have the 2022 iPad Pro with M2 chip. I’ve only tried it in All High graphics + anti aliasing on + 60 fps maybe twice and it worked fine…I was just concerned with the wear and tear over time. It does get hot especially while charging and I try to avoid that.
With that said, I actually run 30fps and medium graphics and object count with anti-aliasing.
The result is very reliable rendering—but really it’s the exceptional battery life especially when I switch to low power mode on cruise (I don’t use AP+).
Haha well with an M2+ iPad I think you can slap on max settings without the hoping it will work
As for not using AP+, it just a personal choice because the flight stops being affected by wind, and occasionally things like load and flight time could be off when the session is resumed .
Well if you’re using AP+ though, max settings on everything and 60fps won’t cause the wear and tear I’m wary of, since you’d only be using iPad during take off, landing, and ground ops!
