IF Performance Calculator — A Tool Built for Serious Sim Pilots
I fly Infinite Flight regularly (if not daily), and after one too many sloppy takeoffs caused by eyeballing thrust and flap settings, I decided to build something proper with the help of Claude AI and the marvelous guides available in the community.
The IF Performance Calculator is a web-based tool that gives you takeoff and landing performance figures for 12 aircraft — including the A220-300, A330-300, A330-900neo, A350-900, A380, E175, E190, 737 MAX 8, 757-200, 777-200ER, 777-300ER, and 777F. You put in your load, conditions, and runway, and it tells you exactly what you need.
What it does
V-speeds (V1, VR, V2, VApp, Vref) interpolated from real performance tables at any load percentage or weight in kg
Dynamic thrust — throttle and N1 targets that adjust for airport elevation, OAT, and headwind component
Wind decomposition — input total wind speed and direction plus runway heading, and the calculator breaks it down into headwind and crosswind automatically
Runway advisor — enter the runway length in feet and it recommends flap settings for both takeoff and landing, and flags Short Runway Ops with a power boost recommendation
D-TO / D-TO1 / D-TO2 for the 737 MAX 8, automatically selected based on weight and runway length
Cruise profile with initial, optimal, and maximum flight levels per load percentage, including step climb guidance
Flap speed limits and extension speeds per aircraft

Aircraft weights (MTOW, MLW, OEW) were cross-referenced against official Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer documentation. The tool itself was built with Claude (Anthropic).
This calculator is for simulator use only and is not affiliated with Infinite Flight, Airbus, Boeing, or Embraer. Please be aware that it is not 100% finished. I just developed this for my own use but I thought some of you might find it helpful or interesting. Feel free to leave some constructive criticism and let me know if you encounter any issues when opening it.
Great concept and tool! I’d love to see more aircraft being added soon! Just a quick note: community-created tools should be in the ThirdParty category. Can’t wait to try this on my next trip!
It’s pretty solid. I compared it to what I got with the SimBrief calculator (with an IF A330neo profile), and the v speeds matched, but the flap settings didn’t. Some sort of integration with SimBrief would be nice.
I’d suggest the ability to copy and paste your departure/arrival performance calculations from SimBrief, and for your calculator to compute the other data, such as throttle percentages and trim. If not that, the ability to fill in the data and make it match would be nice, such as selecting the flaps setting on the calculator to match SimBrief.
I believe I just updated it (though Claude handled the actual work), and it seems to do what you asked for now. The update also includes some performance improvements. Thanks for your feedback!
Just a heads-up, the speeds might not be spot-on because they’re tweaked for runway length and wind (not just the TOW). Also, the data comes from profiles guides shared by community members, so it might not always match what you’d see in real life. I tried to set up a central hub for all the guides, so it’s easier and quicker to find what you need. I usually rely on community resources for v speeds since they’re specifically designed for the Infinite Flight model (this performance might differ from the real-world versions or more advanced sims).
I have the SimBrief aircraft profiles tuned exactly to that of the Infinite Flight aircraft. I also put in the same exact data. The V speeds were different by 10+ knots. I understand where you’re coming from nevertheless.
That’s great! I’ve been having a bit of trouble getting SimBrief to perfectly match the specs of IF planes, and the fuel consumption often feels off. I’ve found myself in debates with the community’s performance guides, which is why I created this tool. The downside is that it might not be as realistic or precise as it could be, but it’s definitely easier to use. Plus, it’s mostly made by AI, so it’s not perfect.
